Atom has no extension format. There is no install, marketplace, or extension manifest.

What to use instead

  • Shareable behavior: SKILL.md files with name, description, and least-privilege allowed-tools are the packaging unit that exists. See Skills.
  • Project defaults: atom.json sets first-run provider, model, and budget defaults per project or globally. See Configuration.

If an extension format lands, this page will document it. Until then, a folder of skills plus atom.json covers the same ground.
